I'm planning to sow phlox seed. The directions on packet say to freeze for two weeks and then leave in warm water for a week. This appears a complicated process, especially the warm water bit. Has anyone successfully started phlox indoors.? If so, what did you do? Thanks.

Although I may not have started phlox from seed, I have always found that the directions on seed packets should be followed. I've never had any success doing anything different than instructed, particularly if the plant is a new variety, which I suspect yours may be. I've always pruchased a plant, rather than seeds, primarily for this reason but also due to only wanting a few plants due to space limitations.
