Ultima Morpho Snow Pansy
Robin Fritz took this photo on February 6! She took a turn around the yard and found a section of snow had melted and these little beauties were still covered in flowers-under the snow! They had to go through several hard frosts before the protective layer of snow covered them and aside from them being within 6 feet of the house, she doesn't know how they survived, let alone thrived. This has been one of their coldest winters ever with several days of -23 celsius! Robin started the plants from seed last year. She planted them on the southern side of her house, and they thrived all summer withstanding heat of 40+ celsius. Robin says that she didn't get the typical high heat wilt her previous strains of pansies are usually subject to.
These flowers outperformed Robin's wildest expectations and she looks forward to many more years of their beauty.
