Alcea rosea Zones 3-9. Biennial. Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Provide good air circulation to help prevent powdery mildew and plant 12-18" apart. Removing spent flowers will encourage a second bloom in late summer. Will self seed. Grows 24-36" tall. Choose a sheltered location or stake the flower spikes to avoid wind damage.
