Lychnis chalcedonica
Perennial - Zones 3-10
Sow seed indoors 8-10 weeks before planting out. Press seeds lightly onto the soil surface. Do not cover seeds with soil as they require light to germinate. Cover pots with plastic bags and place in refrigerator for 2 weeks. Remove from fridge and provide light and room temperature 70°F (21°C) thereafter. Grow in full sun, in moderate to dry soil. Lychnis does not like the combination of heat and high humidity. Shearing plants after flowering may result in a second bloom in autumn.
