Small discs of compressed peat encased in a thin plastic net increase in size 7 times to a height of 2 1/8" by 1¾" in width, minutes after water has been added. Ideal for starting most flowers, lettuce, cabbage, etc.
For larger plants such as tomatoes, we suggest using Jiffy Pots.

Jiffy-7 Peat Pellets

I love them, always start my wave petunias in them and many other seeds. Much easier to use these to transplant rather than digging in dirt and distubing roots. Less likely for plants to go into shock.
