We highly recommend ‘Synergistic’ corn varieties as they combine the sweet, creamy flavour of ‘Sugary Enhanced’ (SE) types with the higher sugar content and longer harvest window of ‘Supersweet’ (Sh2) varieties. Each Synergistic cob contains approximately 25% Sh2 kernels and 75% SE kernels. Synergistic corn is much less sensitive to cold soil than Sh2 varieties and they do not need to be isolated from SE and SU types. Sow 7-10 days later than normal early varieties.
