Purple Wave Petunia
Petunia x hybrida. Still the best seed-raised, trailing Petunia on the market! Waves require no pinching or pruning to have season long bloom, although some pinching will produce bushier baskets. Plants get only 4-6" tall but spread 3-4 feet. Colourful 2-3" blooms absolutely smother these spreading plants. Excellent grown as a groundcover, in hanging baskets, pots or window boxes. Start Petunia seed inside 8 weeks before last frost date. Pelleted seed. Approximately 10 seeds/pkg.

Growing Information
Planting:
Start inside 8 weeks before last frost. Sprinkle the tiny seed onto soil surface and gently press them in; do not cover. Provide light and constant warmth (21-24 degrees C). Use a bottom heat source for best results. Transplant after last frost into a full sun location. Wave petunias need full sun (at least 6 hours daily) exposure and well-drained, fertile soil. Provide plenty of water and regular fertilizer for peak performance. Space plants 12 to 18 inches apart in beds, or place 1 to 3 plants in each 10 inches container. With the Tidal Wave petunias, 12-inch spacing forces the plants to grow 2 feet tall, while wider spacing allows the plants to grow shorter and spread.
Moving Outside:
Gradually adjust your plants to outside conditions over a period of a week or two. First place them outside on a warm, calm day in the shade for a few hours. Work up to more sun, wind, and cooler temperatures and finally leave out overnight. Permanently place or plant them outside after your last spring frost date. Check moisture levels everyday, and water when necessary. Continue to fertilize throughout the season. Watch out for the usual insect pests: whiteflies, aphids, thrips, and spider mites.
Growing:
Feed plants every 2 weeks with a complete plant food, such as 10-20-10 or an organic alternative, to maintain constant flowering. Pinch back errant, long stems to encourage bushier growth.
