Star of Yelta Morning Glory
Ipomea purpurea. The most popular morning glory on our trial trellis! Large flower buds open in the morning to reveal silky 2.5” blooms, of deep blue with contrasting purple stars and pink eyes. Unlike most morning glories they stay open most of the day. Reaching a height of about 7’ tall, they flower from June to frost. Approx. 40 seeds/pkg.

May be started inside in peat pots, 3-4 weeks before last frost. Usually direct seeded 2 weeks after last frost. Chip seeds, soak for 24 hours and cover with 1⁄4-1⁄2 inches of soil. Requires a soil warmth of 21-26 degrees C. Space 12-18 inches apart or closer since these plants do not mind being crowded.
Plant in a sunny location and do not fertilize.
