Cosmos bipinnatus. Xanthos means "Yellow" in Greek and is a unique colour for cosmos. Great performance in our trials. The 3" soft yellow flowers have a hint of white and cover like a blanket on this dwarf, uniform plant. The plants are well branched, grow well in pots and will continue to thrive all season long. One of the easiest and most popular direct seed annuals. Simply sprinkle the seed where you would like them to grow and magically they appear! Great fun for kids and the daintiest of cut flowers. Height 25" and a branching habit of 2 feet. Approx. 25 seeds/pkg.
May be started inside 4 weeks before last frost or direct seeded after last frost. Plant 1⁄4 inches deep in warm soil (24-26 degrees C). Transplant after risk of frost has passed and once the soil has warmed. Space 8-12 inches apart in a full sun location.
Grows well in poor soil. Dead-head regularly.
