Pow Wow Wild Berry Echinacea
Echinacea purpurea. Unique, intense rose flowers with a dark rose center. Retains colour longer than other varieties. This 2010 All America Selections winner has superior performance including an excellent basal branching habit on a 20-24 inch stalk which results in more flowers per plant. Blooms the first year, loves full sun and is drought tolerant. Approximately 10 seeds/pkg.
Start inside 8-10 weeks before planting out. Cover lightly, provide darkness and warmth (21-24 degrees C). Germination may be erratic. May also be direct seeded in early spring or early autumn. Transplant outside in early spring into a full sun location, 24 inches apart.
Echinacea is tolerant of dry soil. Divide every 3 years in early spring. Cut flowering stems to the ground in the fall.
